Minister of TradeZulkifli Hasan, on Saturday, sent off the exports of home decorative products made by a company coming under the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) category in Bantul District, Yogyakarta, to Spain.
“This export is valued at US$7 thousand. It should be noted that this enterprise’s export value during the January-June period was registered at US$245 thousand,” he remarked while sending off the exports of products manufactured by CV Palem Craft.
Hasan noted that the government would provide support to the MSME that had earlier exported its goods to various countries, including Chile.
“Imagine, this company has even managed to reach the market in Chile. Hence, we need to continue supporting the company, so that it can keep increasing its exports,” he remarked.
The minister highlightedthe government’s unwavering stance in taking measures to expand Indonesia’s export market penetration to reach its traditional and non-traditional trade partners, such as countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
“The ASEAN has become one (ASEAN Free Trade Area), so we are enjoying free trade. Indonesia is also eyeing other large markets, such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Egypt,” he pointed out.
Meanwhile, the owner of CV Palem Craft, Deddy Effendi, remarked that his company had earlier exported its goods to several countries apart from Spain, including Turkey, Belgium, France, Greece, and South Korea.
“As for ASEAN countries, we have exported products to the Philippines and Thailand. We can say that our exported products are dominated by lamps, mirrors, and other home decorative items,” he stated.
